Mitsubishi Ralliart Eclipse - They Should Have Known

If you've been remotely following any kind of automotive news at all lately, the odds are you've read about the much talked about Mitsubishi Ralliart Eclipse at the 2005 SEMA. Almost every website, forum I've visited have mostly good things to say about this "concept". The general consent that I got from various sites and forums are:

A) This is what the Eclipse should have been, and
B) This is the Eclipse I would buy.

Equipped with existing parts from the Evolution ranging from its 4G63 power plant, all wheel drive system and a 6 speed tranny, not to mention the revised exterior. Mitsubishi you should really consider selling this thing.

The Traffic Rangers Visit The 2005 Tokyo Motor Show !

Yup, and you know how The Traffic Rangers hate beautiful girls in white skirts!

In an attempt to teach the younger generation of traffic safety, the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show has a side show dedicated to the kids called: "The Traffic Rangers Safety Show." Featuring in order from left to right (ok, I made these characters names, ok!?) the "Stop Sign" man, "Tiger head homeless people", the "WTF!" man, "No Enter" man, "Abusive Blonde Girl" motorist, and our main guy the "Hub Cap Shoulder Pad" biker.

.........In other news, six halloween goers was injured by an under age non insured motorist driving his dad's Hummer in Japan, their identities were unknown. All we know at this point is they are in the show business.....

Gumpert Apollo: Not Just Another Super Car

Came across this amazing car manufacturer on the net and my jaw dropped when I saw what they made.

Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur was founded by Roland Gumpert, who heads the Audi Rally Team during the 80's. The Gumpert Apollo is a 1100 lbs road legal super car made for the track (if you happen to have $210,000 USD and got one of these, you really should not waste it on public roads).

At the heart is a 4.2L twin turbo V8 by Audi, mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The engine output is an amazing 641bhp at just 6800rpm, which equates to 152 bhp/Liter, with 597 lb-ft of torque at 5000rpm. A bike like 0-60 time of just 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 224 mph!

Nissan GT-R Proto

Well, the unveiling of Nissan's GT-R Proto at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show is already all over the internet now. However, the official site of GT-R Proto with all its video content has just recently been launched. Just a reminder, their site will not be active forever, so just make sure you sign up for their newsletter if you want to know more about the car later.

The significance of this GT-R Proto is how this car was intended to be a world car (yes, USA too!) right from the get-go. As you will see form their video interviews with their chief designer. While, IMO, the 2007 GT-R will not be at the level of the LF-A and the next gen NSX; It will definitely be a car that are a few notches up from the likes of the Z and RX-8.

I recently caught this H3 commercial on TV and I decided to share it on this blog. It is truly a brilliant commercial, can't say the same about the product. IMO, there is only one Hummer in this world and it is the H1 Alpha. Anything else other than that would just be like those toy cell phone you buy for your kids so that they can play pretend.

Ok, I am so happy that my life long dream of integrating a mp3 player into my toilet seat has been realized. Yup, and I didn't get a patent (should have called ICS...damn!). The well known feel "gooding", jet streaming, auto flipping, bottom warming toilet manufacturer "TOTO" has come up with the worlds first integrated remote mp3 player with stereo speakers toilet seat! Yes, as my local bum would say, the end is really here!

On sale as of Nov 11th at a starting price of 180,600Yen (about 1550USD) for the [N5A] model, and came pre-loader with a bunch of Japanese songs, and if you want to hear Britney singing "oops! I did it again" while you take a dump; there is also a built-in SD card slot for that.

Shadow of the Colossus - My Rating 4/5

Shadow of the Colossus, an extremely fun game developed by the same team that created ICO, came out a few days ago. I did manage to get a copy of the game and I had already play it through twice.

It is such a spectacular game with a compelling story. Game play is like nothing I've experienced before and I would encourage anyone to give it a go either by buying it (definitely a must have) or at the least rent it. On the low side, there are minor issues with the game such as camera control (or the lack of) and frame rate. Checkout gamerankings for other reviews.
